NYFW Runway Mani Report - Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer at Betsey Johnson SS15

Leave it to Betsey Johnson to defy the nude nail polish trend for spring and go for multidimensional shimmer and a bold statement nail for her spring 2015 show during New York Fashion Week.

For Betsey Johnson's S/S 2015 runway show, Danielle Candido, lead manicurist for Morgan Taylor, created a multidimensional blue and silver-hued, crystal- embellished bridal manicure that only Betsey Johnson could envision. The nail look, as seen above on Camille Grammer, is a layer of Oh Snap It's Silver!, an iridescent silver hue, topped with a coat of sheer cream In The Nude to magnify the silver sparkle underneath. Another layer of Oh Snap It's Silver! was then applied before a layer of  Bronzed & Beautiful, a gold metallic shimmer, was lightly sponged on. On top of the four layers of color, Candido then applied loose foil and pearlescent embellishments to complete the fresh take on bridal nails. As an added surprise, vibrant baby blue Varsity Jacket Blues was applied to the underside of the nail tips, adding a faint tint seen from the top and a pop from the belly of the nail. Toes shimmered in Adorned In Diamonds to match the multidimensional nails.

NYFW Runway Mani Report - Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer at Angel Sanchez & Zero + Maria Cornejo

Creamy sheers from Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer took center stage at the Angel Sanchez and Zero + Maria Cornejo Spring 2015 collection shows during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The pale hued nails were brought to life by Morgan Taylor’s lead manicurist, Gina Edwards, highlighting the continuous trend of nude nail colors for the upcoming spring season.

Angel Sanchez, Nails by Gina Edwards

Gina Edwards created a captivating geometric blue nail for Angel Sanchez’s S/S 2015 runway. A custom blended pale aquamarine composed of Morgan Taylor in Varsity Jacket Blues and Make It Last clear top coat was applied as the base and was topped with a cuticle-hugging, asymmetrical swoosh in Morgan Taylor Who-Dini, a gray blue crème, that transitioned to the outside edge of the nail. The look was given a high-shine finish with Morgan Taylor in Need For Speed. The transitional manicure complemented Sanchez’s perfectly juxtaposed collection of soft, feminine fabrics cut in hard lines and geometric shapes.

Zero + Maria Cornejo, Nails by Gina Edwards

It was all about classic nude at Zero + Maria Cornejo’s spring 2015 runway collection. Lead manicurist Gina Edwards kept it clean with two coats of Morgan Taylor in New School Nude, a universal nude hue with pink undertones. The shade was applied to both fingers and toes and coordinated perfectly with the solid palette of Cornejo’s European romance-inspired collection. The look was finished with Morgan Taylor Need For Speed, a fast-drying topcoat.

NYFW Runway Mani Report - Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer at Thakoon S/S 2015

For Thakoon's island-inspired spring 2015 collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Morgan Taylor Nail Laqueur's lead manicurist, Gina Edwards brought extra tranquility to the collection with a prismatic manicure with high-gloss shine. Edwards created the glistening nail look by applying one coat of Morgan Taylor in Sugar Fix, a sheer pink shimmer, two coats of Make It Last and one coat of Need For Speed top coats to models’ hands for a high-gloss, dewy finish that perfectly complemented the overall fresh-out-of-the-pool beauty esthetic. For pedicures, she used In The Nude, a sheer beige hue with pink undertones, to complete the look.
